Juego de Estrellas Interligas: Puerto Rico 4, Dominicana 3

12 de noviembre, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico - Los mejores jugadores de la Republica Dominicana y Puerto Rico se enfrentaron este pasado domingo en el quinto Juego de Estrellas Interligas que se celebró en el Estadio Isidoro García en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Ambos equipos batallaron hasta el último out con Puerto Rico derrotando los Dominicanos 4-3.

Ambos dejaron hombres en base durante las primeras tres entradas pero no pudieron anotar carreras.

Puerto Rico atacó primero con dos sencillos y roletazo. Luis Matos llego a base producto de un error cometido por el SS Dominicano Michael Martínez. Matos anotó carrera gracias al largo doble por el bateador designado, Pedro Valdez, extendiendo los Boricuas 3-0.

Los Dominicanos reaccionaron con un doble y un sencillo, anotando una carrera en la quinta entrada. Victor Mercedes logro empatar el juego ante el lanzador de Puerto Rico, Julio Rodríguez, con un cuadrangular.

Puerto Rico pudo anotar su última carrera en la parte baja de la séptima entrada gracias al sencillo bateado por el receptor Martín Maldonado. El Dominicano, M. Martínez, cometió su tercer error en esta entrada.

El lanzador Boricua, RJ Rodríguez, poncho los primeros dos bateadores y un fly a tercera para terminar la octava.Rabell Saúl Rivera se llevo el juego salvado y permitió un hit en la parte baja de la novena entrada.

November 12, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico - The best players from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico squared off Sunday at the Interleague All-Star game held at the Isidoro Garcia Stadium in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. The long-time rivals in the sport battled it out until the end with Puerto Rico standing tall in a 4-3 victory over the Dominican Republic.

Both teams had runners on base in the first three innings of the game, but failed to score.

Puerto Rico struck first with two singles and a ground out to put runners in scoring position. Luis Matos reached based on a throwing error by Dominican short-stop M. Martinez allowing Puerto to score its first two runs of the game. Designated-hitter Pedro Valdes’ double brought in Matos, extending Puerto Rico’s lead to 3-0.

The Dominican Republic answered back with a double and a single, scoring one run at the top of the fifth inning. Victor Mercedes hit a two-run homer off Puerto Rican right-handed pitcher Julio Rodriguez to tie the ballgame, 3-3.

Victor Mercedes went 3-for-4 and Ruddy Yan was 2-for-4 with a run for the Dominican squad.

Puerto Rico scratched out another run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a RBI single from catcher M. Maldonado. The Dominican Republic collected their third error of the game from their shortstop in the same inning.

RJ Rodriguez struck out the first two batters and flying out the third to finish the eighth inning for Puerto Rico. Right-hander Rabell Saul Rivera got the save while allowing one hit in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Estrellas de Oriente 8, Toros del Este 7 – (05/12/2010)
Las Estrellas de Oriente se ha cambiado a primero lugar en las posiciones después de derrotar los Toros de Este por una carrera, dirigido por el jardinero derecho Eugene Velez’ tres hits y dos carreras impulsadas. Chris Davis empujó dos carreras para las Estrellas. Eddie Garabito fue de 4-2 con tres carreras producida para el Toros.

Estrellas de Oriente 6, Tigres del Licey 3 – (04/12/2010)
Bryan LeHair empujó un par de carreras y Henry Sosa (Giants de San Francisco) recogió su segunda victoria, permitiendo tres carreras en tres hits con cuatro ponchetes en más de seis entradas para el segundo-lugar Estrellas. Zack Segovia (Yankees) tiró a cero el noveno para su séptimo salvado. Engel Beltre (Rangers) dió su primer cuadrangular, un jonron de tres carreras en el fondo de la tercera entrada de Sosa para los Tigres.

Gigantes del Cibao 10, Estrellas de Oriente 9, 12 innings – (03/12/2010)
Wilson Betemit golpeó jonrón con las bases llenas en la entrada tercera de el lanzador derecho Henry Sosa y empujó cinco carreras, mientras Erick Almonte (Brewers) y J. R. House contribuyó con tres hit cada uno aun los Gigantes derrota las Estrellas en entradas adicionales del béisbol. Alex Valdez (A’s) fue de 5-2 con dos carreras empujada y una carrera anotada para las Etrellas.

Aguilas Cibaeñas 1, Leones del Escogido 0 – (02/12/2010)
Bartolo Colon pomchado ocho en más de siete entradas a cero del béisbol llevando a las Aguilas atrás a jugar .500 (18-18) de béisbol. Kevin Barker, que fue de 4-3 con un doble, anotó la única carrera del juego de un flái de sacrificio por receptor Francisco Peña abriendo la segunda entrada. Naranjeros de Hermosillo 15, Aguilas de Mexicali 3 – (05/12/2010)
Humberto Cota dió un par de dobles, empujóc dos carreras y anotó tres carreras ayudando los Naranjeros derrotar las Aguilas por 12 carreras. Erubiel Durazo golpeó su cuadrangular décimo de la temporada y también empujó cuatro carreras.

Mayos de Navojoa 6, Venados de Mazatlan 0 – (04/12/2010)
Adan Muñoz usó su poder y dió un par de cuadrangulares, uno en la primera entrada y otro en la quinta entrada, para dirigir su equipo a una victoria sobre los Venados. Muñoz fue de 4-4 y Steve Musgo (Brewers) dió un par de hits, anotando dos veces, mientras Leonardo Gonzalez ponchado cinco, abandonando tres hits en más de siete entradas para ganar la victoria.

Aguilas de Mexicali 6, Caneros de los Mochis 1 – (02/12/2010)
El antesalista Oscar Robles fue de 4-2 con base por bola y dos carreras empujada aun las Aguilas derrotó los Mochis de primer-lugar. El lanzador Ryan Drese permitió una carrera en cuatro hit y una base por bolas en más de 6 1/3 entradas para los Mochis. Los Caneros fue de 6-1 con corredores en posición de anotar y dejaron siete en la base. Alejandro Barraza (Rockies) abandonó un hit y cinco base por bolas en más de seis entradas para los Caneros.

Indios de Mayaguez 2, Leones de Ponce 0 – (05/12/2010)
El lanzador derecho Steve Hirschfeld (Minnesota) tuvo su excursión más fuerte del invierno, punchando seis en más de 6 1/3 entradas de cero y permitiendo tres hit éxitos y dos bases por bolas para la victoria. El antesalista Fernando Cortez golpeó su tercero triple de los últimos dos juegos para los Indios.

Gigantes de Carolina 5, Senadores de San Juan 0 – (04/12/2010)
Orlando Mercado fue de 4-4 con un cuadrangular y cuatro carreras empujadas dirigiendo a los Gigantes a una victoria sin carrera sobre el Senadores. Julio Rodriguez lanzó un gran juego, abinicando cuatro sobre seis entradas y permitiendo dos hit.

Criollos de Caguas 4, Gigantes de Carolina 3 - (03/12/2010)
Los Criollos se recuperó en la sexta entrada, dirigido por Gregorio Mozo, que fue de 4-2 con una carrera impulsada y Luis Figueroa (4-2) para derrotar los Gigantes 4-3. El derecho lanzador Sho Iwasaki abanicó ocho y abandonó tres carreras sobre seis entradas para su sexta victoria.

Indios de Mayaguez 7, Senadores de San Juan 4, 11 innings – (01/12/2010)
Los Indios de Mayaguez salieron en cima después de un batear para de dos carreras en la entrada undécima por Eduardo Guzman. Eddy Martinez-Esteve (Mariners) fue de 3-2 con dos carreras impulsadas y una anotacion mientras Irving Falu (Royals) anotó dos veces. Los Senadores se fueron de 14-2 con corredores en posición de anotar y 12 corredores fueron dejados en la base.

Leones de Ponce 3, Indios de Mayaguez 2 - (29/11/2010)

Caribes de Anzoategui 6, Navegantes del Magallanes 0, - (02/12/2010)
Alexi Amarista (Angels) fue de 4-3 con dos cuadrangulares, un doble y anotó tres veces ayudando a los Caribes ganar su segundo juego consecutivo. El lanzador Steve Rebuzno ganó su primera victoria de la temporada, permitiendo 2 hit en más de 7 1/3 entradas para Anzoategui.

Leones del Caracas 5, Cardenales de Lara 2 - (01/12/2010)
Los Leones del Caracas logró anotar cinco carreras en la séptima entrada después de barrer las bases con un doble de Asdrubal Cabrera (indios). Devin Moscoso (Rangers) ponchado siete y permitió una carrera en 5 1/3 entradas para Caracas mientras Josh Kroeger (White Sox) duplicó dos veces y empujó una carrera. Juan Rincon (Rockies de Colorado) permitió dos hit en más de cinco marcos de cero para los Cardenales.

The Estrellas de Oriente have moved into first place in the standings after defeating the Toros de Este by a run, led by right-fielder Eugene Velez’ three hits and two RBI. Chris Davis drove in two runs for the Estrellas. Eddy Garabito went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Toros.

Estrellas de Oriente 6, Tigres del Licey 3 – (12/04/2010)
Bryan LeHair drove in a pair of runs and Henry Sosa (Giants) picked up his second win, allowing three runs on three hits with four strikeouts over six innings for the second-place Estrellas. Gigantes del Cibao 10, Estrellas de Oriente 9, 12 innings – (12/03/2010)

Aguilas de Mexicali 6, Caneros de los Mochis 1 – (12/02/2010)

Indios de Mayaguez 2, Leones de Ponce 0 – (12/05/2010)
Right-hander Steve Hirschfeld (Minnesota) had his strongest outing of the winter season, striking six over 6 1/3 shutout innings and allowing three hits and two walks for the win. Third baseman Fernando Cortez hit his third triple of the last two games for the Indios.

The Criollos rallied in the sixth inning, led Gregory Porter, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Luis Figueroa (2-for-4) to defeat to defeat the Gigantes 4-3. The righty Sho Iwasaki struck out eight and gave up three runs over six innings for his league-leading sixth win.

Leones de Ponce 3, Senadores de San Juan 0 – (12/02/2010)
Ben Snyder (Texas) pitched seven shutout innings only surrendering two hits and one walk handing the second-place Senadores their third consecutive loss. Ponce’s Felix Perez (Reds) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a walk. San Juan’s Willy Lebron (Royals) gave up three runs on five hits over six innings in the loss.

Indios de Mayaguez 7, Senadores de San Juan 4, 11 innings – (12/01/2010)
The Indios de Mayaguez came out on top after a pinch-hit two run single in the 11th inning by Edwards Guzman. Eddy Martinez-Esteve (Mariners) went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored while Irving Falu (Royals) scored twice. The Senadores were 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position and 12 runners were left on base.

Leones de Ponce 3, Indios de Mayaguez 2 - (11/29/2010)
Alex Cintron provided all the offense needed by smacking a three-run homer in the third innings off Mayaguez pitcher Steve Hirschfeld giving the fourth-place Ponce the victory. Cintron, who spent the 2010 season in the Mets organization, has eight RBIs in 22 games with Ponce. Felix Perez (Reds) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Thomas Santiago allowed a hit over 2 1/3 shutout innings for his second win.

Liga Venezolana

Aguilas del Zulia 6, Tigres de Aragua 1 – (12/05/2010)
Catcher Juan Apodaco (Indians) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and left-hander hurler, Douglas Arguello tossed 4 2/3 shutout innings to help the Aguillas move into first place. Alex Romero reached base three times and provided the only run for the Tigres.

Tigres de Aragua 8, Aguilas del Zulia 1 – (12/03/2010)

Leones del Caracas 5, Cardenales de Lara 2 - (12/01/2010)
The Leones del Caracas managed to score five runs in the seventh inning after a bases-clearing double from Asdrubal Cabrera (Indians). Devin Moscoso (Rangers) struckout seven and allowed a run over 5 1/3 innings for Caracas while Josh Kroeger (White Sox) doubled twice and drove in a run. Juan Rincon (Rockies) allowed two hits over five shutout frames for the Cardenales.

Brad Nelson (Seattle) dirigió los Gigantes a una victoria después de dar dos jonrones y empujando cinco correra. El cuadrangular de tres carreras de Nelson permitió los Gigantes para tomar una ventaja de 4-0 en la primera entrada. Mauro Gomez de los Toros (Braves) y Brad Emaus (Blue Jays de Toronto) fue profundo para los Toros.

Tigres del Licey 5, Toros del Este 2 - (27/11/2010)

Aguilas Cibaenas 5, Toros del Este 1 - (26/11/2010)
Los Toros de primer lugar se blanquearon por el premio Cy Young ganador anterior Bartolo Colon. Oliver Perez (los Mets) aguantó a los Yaquis de Obregon a un par de hits y cuatro bases por bolas en su segundo excursión a cero recta. Perez lanzó seis entradas de victoria del béisbol para dirigir los Tomateros de Culiacan a una victoria de 7-0 sobre Obregon. Ambos Amaury Canzana (Cardinales de San Luis) y Jason Botts (Nacional de Washington) abofetaron un par de jonrones para la victoria.

Tomateros de Culiacan 6, Yaquis de Obregon 2 - (27/11/2010)
Archie Gilberto dirigió los Tomateros a la victoria sobre los Yaquis con un cuadrangular, un doble y dos carreras empujada. Amaury Cazana (Cardinales de St, Louis) y Maxwell Leon (Tigres de Detroit) agregó un cuadrangulo de dos anotaciones para Culiacan, mientras Novato del Año de la liga Mexicana Hector Velazquez tres entradas lanzadas de victoria para Obregon.

Mayos de Navojoa 5, Aguilas de Mexicali 3, (16 innings) - 26/11/2010
Un doble de dos anotaciones de Gonzalo Mesa borró un déficit de noveno-entrada para Mexcali forcando Navojoa para jugar siete entradas extra del béisbol para una victoria que las Mayonesas entrarían la entrada decimosexta. Los Leones de Ponce fue tenido a sólo cuatro corredores de base aun el zurdo Willie Collazo (Blue Jays de Toronto) lanzó un completo-juego de tres hit para dar a los Gigantes de Carolina una victoria sobre los Leones. Ben Snyder (Rangers de Texas) fue acusado de dos carreras en cinco hit más de 4 1/3 entradas en la pérdida.

Criollos de Caguas 17, Gigantes de Carolina 4 - (26/11/2010)

Tigres del Licey 5, Toros del Este 2 - (11/27/2010)
The Tigres shut down the first-place Toros with an all out assault effort by Freddy Dolsi (White Sox), Denny Bautista and Victor Marte (Royals) who pitched a combined 4 2/3 innings of one hit relief. Engle Beltre (Rangers) and Anderson Hernández each scored twice for Licey.

Estrellas Orientales 6, Tigres del Licey 2 - (11/26/2010)
Padres Pitcher Radhamas Liz had all the support he needed from fellow teammate slugger Chris Davis who belted three hits and a homer to lead his Estrella team to victory. A’s prospect Alex Valdez contributed with three hits for the Estrellas. Ramon Ortiz allowed three runs in four innings of baseball in the lost for Licey.

Aguilas Cibaenas 5, Toros del Este 1 (11/26/2010)
The first-place Toros were shut down by former Cy Young Award winner Bartolo Colon. Colon allowed a run on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings for his first victory for the Aguilas. Julio Borbon (Rangers) went 4-for-5 scoring three runs for Cibaenas. The only Toros run came from Andy Dirks who doubled twice.

Tomateros de Culiacan 7, Yaquis de Obregon 0 - (11/28/2010)
Oliver Perez (Mets) held Obregon to a pair of hits and four walks in his second straight scoreless outing. Perez pitched six shutout innings of baseball to lead Culiacan to a 7-0 victory over Obregon. Both Amaury Canzana (Cardinals) and Jason Botts (Nationals) smacked a homer each for the win.

Tomateros de Culiacan 6, Yaquis de Obregon 2 - (11/27/2010)
Archie Gilbert led the Tomateros to victory over the Yaquis with a homer, double and two RBI day. Amaury Cazana (Cardinals) and Maxwell Leon (Tigers) added two-run shots for Culiacan, while Mexican League Rookie of the Year Hector Velazquez pitched three innings of shutout relief for Obregon.

Mayos de Navojoa 5, Aguilas de Mexicali 3, (16 innings) - 11/26/2010
A two-run double from Gonzalo Mesa erased a ninth-inning deficit for Mexcali forcing Navojoa to play seven extra innings of baseball for a win the Mayos would get in the 16th inning. The lead-off home run by Jesus Vega was the deciding factor and Tike Redman’s RBI single secured the win.

Caneros de los Mochis 3, Venados de Mazatlan 2 - (11/26/2010)
Christian Quintero scored the insurance run in the top of the seventh inning from Carlos Orrantia’s single to give Mochis a one-run win over Mazatlan. Alejandro Barraza (Rockies) walked five and allowed five hits in five innings, holding Mazatlan to a single run for the win. Miguel Gonzalez got the loss for Mazatlan.

Gigantes de Carolina 6, Leones de Ponce 0 - (11/28/2010)
Ponce was held to just four base runners as lefty Willie Collazo (Blue Jays) pitched a complete-game three hit shutout giving Carolina a victory over Ponce. Ben Snyder (Rangers) was charged with two runs on five hits over 4 1/3 innings in the loss.

Criollos de Caguas 17, Gigantes de Carolina 4 - (11/26/2010)
Caguas bats were alive early and often as they beat Carolina starter Mario Santiago (Kansas City) out of the game with two runs in the first and seven in the third inning. Catcher Javier Valentin, playing in the DH role, led the way for the Criollos with four hits, three runs scored and two RBIs. Dee Gordon (Dodgers) batted out of the top of the lineup and had four hits for Carolina.

Indios de Mayaguez 9, Criollos de Caguas 5 - (11/24/2010) The Indios snapped a five-game losing streak led by Eddy Martinez-Esteve who went 5-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs. Right-hander Yorman Bazardo picked up his fifth win of the season and lowered his ERA to 1.96 in pitching eight scoreless innings for Aragua. The recently signed Minnesota Twin was taken out of the game in the ninth inning after allowing one base runner, who later scored. Marquez Smith (Cubs) had three hits for Aragua.

Right-hander Anthony Lerew pitched a no-hitter for the Navegantes, handing the Leones their fourth straight loss. Lerew walked four and struck out four in his sixth appearance and improved to 3-0 record, lowering his ERA to 1.11.
